  • Michael Joseph Murphy, 74, of Hot Springs Village, AR, passed away May 15, 2019. He was born October 7, 1944 to Robert and Dorothy Murphy in Detroit, Michigan Michael served in the Marine Corps for twenty years, three years active duty with a tour in Vietnam and 17 years in the reserves. Michael graduated college with a business degree. He worked as a financial consultant for forty years with Conn. Mutual, Smith Barney, and FifthThird Bank. He enjoyed being a member of the Knights of Columbus, MOAA (Military Officers Association of America) and the Corvette Club. He loved his country, the Marines, and cared about our veterans deeply. Mike loved singing, traveling, boating, and being adventuresome. Mike leaves behind his loving wife, Vicki Beebe Murphy, of 51 years; a sister, Peg Gentile, several nieces, and nephews and many special friends. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, June 1, 2019. Father Bill Elser officiating, with a reception following in the lower hall. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to your favorite veteran’s organization , a food bank, or Hospice of your choice.     Mike Murphy is my uncle. He was a hero of mine growing up. He was a dedicated Marine and a great patriot! You will be missed Mike. Love and prayers.
