  • Henry Frank, 91, Hot Springs Village, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016.  Henry was born December 5, 1924 in Mason City, Iowa to Henry and Irene Frank.

    Henry proudly served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII.  He served on the Fountain Lake School Board 1993-2003, He was a member of the initial Garland County Prayer Breakfast committee, and Friends of HSV Board.  He was Plant Manager for Central Steel and Wire in Detroit, Michigan, before retiring to HSV in 1988.

     Mr. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 59 years, Betty, and his grandson Tim. He is survived by his 3 children: Greg, Larry and Lynn, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and his very special companion and traveler in life, Carolyn Strout.

    Funeral service will be at Village United Methodist Church 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2016 with Pastor Al Loya officiating, with graveside service following at CedarVale Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Henry Frank’s honor to Teen Challenge of Arkansas.

    I am sorry to hear about your father. Jerry always enjoyed visiting with him and talking about education in general and particularly sports. We need more concerned citizens willing to make a difference as your father did. He was a real gentleman. I hope your many memories of him will be a comfort during this sad time.     The times my wife and I were able to visit with Henry were always very special times. From God to sports to family to education; this man had experience in everything. It was always a pleasure to pick his brain as well as get a vision of our American past through his eyes. It was a joy to see such a fire and passion for what he believed in and to have him be apart of our family for many years. You will be sorely missed and we all love you greatly Henry.

    Sorry for your loss. Henry and Betty were my neighbors when I first moved to the Village. They were so helpful to us as newcomers. I shall always remember their kindness.
