  • Rose Eleanor Scott, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, and longtime resident of Hot Springs Village, AR, passed away at her home on Monday, April 6, 2015. Rose was a lifelong Episcopalian and faithful member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church where she was actively involved with the Episcopal Church Women, the Holy Trinity Book Store, the Cursillo movement, her Reunion Group, and with parish outreach.

    Born August 5, 1928, Rose graduated from Peabody High School in Pittsburgh where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She then graduated from Howard University in Washington D.C. with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, and went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Education at the University of Pittsburgh.

    Rose’s talents led her to work for ten years as an Assistant Manager for Pittsburgh Public Housing. She then worked for ten years at the University of Pittsburgh, spending two years with the National Science Foundation to evaluate research training for medical students, followed by eight years in the Office of the Chancellor, evaluating various educational programs at the university.

    Rose is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald E. Scott. The two met at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Pittsburgh, PA and married on September 6, 1952. The two loved to travel together, visiting Spain, Canada, and Mexico.

    A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Neil Kaminski officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity’s Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Scott requests that donations be made to the Holy Trinity Endowment Fund, 199 Barcelona Road, Hot Springs Village, AR 71909.  Mrs. Scott was sent for cremation under the direction of CedarVale Funeral Home.
